API will host the Sixth Offshore Structural Reliability Conference (OSRC). This event follows on the informative conferences hosted by the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) in Europe in 2012, 2016 and 2022 and hosted by API in Houston in 2014 and 2018.

Reason For Attending

The conference brings together practitioners and end-users of structural design and operational reliability with the aim to share the collective knowledge gained from decades of global oil & gas experience alongside that from the newer energy sectors, in particular offshore wind.

In past conferences, as well as sharing best practice, knowledge and technology gaps have been identified and discussions have directly driven safety and cost improvements via standardization of company practices and improvements in global standards.

In this conference, there will be reflections on fixed jackets and deepwater floating structures, but also specific deeper discussions around foundation challenges, interfaces with pipelines & risersalignment of API and ISO standards, and our first session covering the transferable skills yet different challenges with offshore wind turbines & substations.

The conference will bring together those with deep understanding of theoretical reliability modellingstandards development and regulators, with industry practitioners focused on concept selection, design, construction, installation, operation integrity management and decommissioning.

About OSRC

OSRC 2024 Vision & Mission Statement

To identify offshore design and assessment challenges, recognize where they fit in the reliability pyramid, then leverage the conference to outline a roadmap for moving them forward.

  • Limit States (Ultimate, Serviceability & Fatigue)
  • Calibration, Optimization & Safety Margin
  • Standards of Design & Assessment

Focus Areas

For each area, sessions cover:

  • Technical challenges
  • Technology & code readiness

Inputs to Design:

  • Fixed Structures
  • Floating Structures
  • Integrity Management
  • Construction
  • Pipelines & Risers
  • Renewables
  • Mobile Units
