Sierra Systems Selected as IT Strategic Resource Supplier to Bruce Power
Toronto, ON, January 9, 2013 - Bruce Power has awarded Sierra Systems Group Inc. a multi-year contract to supply Project Office, Architecture, Infrastructure, Operations, Application Development, and Solution Implementation Services.
One of the primary goals of Bruce Power’s strategic resource initiative was to put in place a contractual mechanism to expedite their procurement process and reduce administrative overhead by establishing a long-term strategic partnership with a single vendor. Sierra Systems was selected as the vendor of choice because of their proven experience with business transformation and performance-based delivery, and because they offer a comprehensive range of IT services. Sierra Systems, and their strategic partner Compugen Inc., will work closely with Bruce Power to provide an innovative, cost effective service delivery model for projects, applications, and operational support services.
“Sierra Systems is committed to investing in our relationship with Bruce Power and working collaboratively with Bruce Power’s leadership team to meet their growing business demands,” stated Greg Thorsley, Application Management Services General Manager for Sierra Systems. “Our focus will be on improving service delivery by streamlining and supporting IT processes that are aligned with industry best practices.”
“Sierra Systems has a long and successful record of helping complex operations such as ours to optimize their service delivery performance,” said Richard Horrobin, Vice President, Power Marketing and CIO, for Bruce Power. “The breadth of services provided by Sierra Systems will increase our capability to deliver business solutions and improve our time to market.”
Working closely with Compugen, a provider of practical real-world solutions and a comprehensive customer-focused portfolio of support services, Sierra Systems is proud to have been selected as a long-term service partner to Bruce Power as they look to increase their continued delivery of emission-free electricity to the 12.8 million residents of Ontario.
