Arizona Public Service Company (APS) who is leading the way toward an energy future that is cleaner, more reliable and more sustainable has an opportunity for a Power Procurement Analyst SR who develops purchase power agreements and other legal contracts, documents, and correspondence as required for the procurement of both conventional and renewable resources. Our Analyst Responsible for RFP (Request for Proposal) development and manages the process to ensure smooth transition from initial bidder proposals to final shortlisting. Will represents the Company in solicitations with outside counterparties in the long term procurement of power for both conventional and renewable generating resources resulting in the execution of successful contractual agreements for either purchase power agreements or equity ownership. Leads cross- functional reviews of contracts and related documentation and assists in preparation of regulatory or management requests for information.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline with a minimum (5) five years advanced experience and knowledge of power purchase agreements (PPA) and other energy contract requirements, contract language, business law applications, and business principles, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Required Skills and Experience:
- Detailed knowledge of (PPA) terms and conditions related to transmission and interconnection requirements, risk management and credit concerns, settlement process, damage provisions, and power scheduling procedures
- Detailed understanding of the differing application of contract terms across a broad spectrum of technology specific contracts
- Must have ability to analyze contract problems, establish priorities and make sound conclusions.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential
- Prefer to have some ability in the areas of project management, negotiation and contract development, business law principles and economic and financial analysis techniques
