Abengoa consolidates its international leadership in electricity transmission and distribution projects

Abengoa (MCE: ABG.B/P SM /NASDAQ: ABGB), the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainable development in the energy and environment sectors, has been recognized for the seventh consecutive year by the prestigious magazine Engineering News-Record (ENR) as a leading "International contractor in transmission and distribution" in 2013.

The company has also regained first place in the "Power" category and for the third consecutive year it is the number one international contractor for solar power.

In terms of its geographical presence, Abengoa is now seventh in the United States and the fifth largest international contractor in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This annual ranking includes the world's leading engineering and construction companies, which are selected based on their gross revenues. The list includes the largest 225 international contractors.

Abengoa, which was contracted to construct 4,500 kilometers (km) of transmission lines in 2013, has more than 45,000 km in electricity transmission and distribution projects on five continents.

ENR, owned by The McGraw-Hill Companies, is one of the most prestigious technical magazines in the sector, providing important and relevant information, news and analysis for specialists in the sector. It also covers financial, legal and safety issues related to the environment and corporate management as well as labor issues associated with the construction industry.

This latest ranking reaffirms Abengoa's international leadership in electricity transmission and distribution projects around the world.
