Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has promoted Dennis Pavagadhi to director of Operations Support, reporting to vice president of Operations, Anthony Hurley.
In his new position, Pavagadhi will be responsible for overseeing JCP&L's 318 substations, including upgrades, maintenance and construction. He also will direct the company's regional dispatch operations centers, which quickly direct line crews to outage locations and coordinate the restoration process.
Pavagadhi joined JCP&L in 1995 and has held a variety of positions in the operations and engineering departments. Prior to his promotion, he served as manager of Engineering Services.
"As a long-time employee, Dennis has the experience and knowledge about JCP&L's infrastructure and operations to help us continue to improve service reliability for our customers," said Anthony Hurley, vice president of Operations, JCP&L. "He will be a valuable addition to JCP&L's senior management team."
Pavagadhi holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He also earned a Master of Science degree from the College of Saint Elizabeth. He is a registered professional engineer in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and a certified energy manager. He resides in Morristown with his wife and daughter.
