MidAmerican Energy tops Midwest rankings in J.D. Power 2014 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study

For the seventh year in a row, MidAmerican Energy Company's residential customers have ranked the company highest for overall satisfaction in its category in the 2014 J.D. Power Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction StudySM.

The 2014 study, released July 16, evaluated 138 of the largest electric utilities in the U.S. for overall residential customer satisfaction based on performance in six key areas: power quality and reliability; price; billing and payment; corporate citizenship; communications; and customer service. MidAmerican Energy once again took top honors in the Midwest Region-Large Segment with an overall satisfaction index score of 687 - 16 points higher than its 2013 score and 21 points ahead of the second-highest-ranked brand in the category.

Terry Ousley, vice president, customer satisfaction for MidAmerican Energy, said the utility's outstanding showing in the J.D. Power rankings reflects a companywide focus on not just meeting, but exceeding, customer expectations.

Results of the study are based on responses from a total of 104,460 online interviews conducted with residential utility customers between July 2013 and May 2014. MidAmerican Energy's score of 687 on the 1,000-point scale was well above the 647 average of all residential electric utilities rated.
