April 18, 2017

NTE Carolinas, LLC ("NTE"), an affiliate of NTE Energy, announces the delivery of Mitsubishi's GAC combustion turbine to the Kings Mountain Energy Center site, located in Cleveland County, NC. The natural gas-fired combustion turbine was placed on its foundation on April 11, 2017, marking a major milestone for the construction of the facility. Gemma Power Systems, LLC is the Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractor for the project. Construction of the Kings Mountain Energy Center began in March 2016, and is currently approximately 40% complete and on schedule to begin commercial operations in the summer of 2018. Currently, there are approximately 280 skilled construction workers on site, which is expected to rise as construction progresses further.

"The arrival of Mitsubishi's combustion turbine represents an exciting milestone for NTE in bringing sustainable and economic power to the region," said Seth Shortlidge, CEO of NTE Energy. "The construction of the Kings Mountain Energy Center is progressing rapidly, with many more milestones to follow."

Once operational, NTE's Kings Mountain Energy Center will provide reliable and economically competitive wholesale power to nine municipal and state owned utilities in North Carolina and South Carolina, under individual Long - Term Power Sale Agreements.
