Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas Names Edward Lasso as Senior Vice President New Equipment Sales Latin America
Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas (MHPS Americas) has announced the appointment of Edward Lasso as Senior Vice President for New Equipment Sales in Latin America.
"The addition of Edward Lasso to the MHPS Americas team reflects our increasing commitment to Latin America. We're coming off a record sales year in the region and we expect continued growth as power producers add capacity," said Bill Newsom, Executive Vice President MHPS Americas New Generation Systems. "We recognize the need for clean, reliable and affordable power in the region requires a focused approach from our experienced team."
Lasso joins MHPS after spending 19 years at Solar Turbines, a division of Caterpillar Corp. During the last four years his primary responsibility has been the Latin American market. He also has experience in working with energy companies in the region from previous roles with Turbomach S.A. and Westinghouse Electric. Lasso holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Florida and he earned his MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology.
