NRC Names New Resident Inspector at Columbia Generating Station

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Lindsay Brandt as its resident inspector at the Columbia Generating Station located in Richland, Wash.

"Lindsay Brandt has demonstrated the dedication to safety necessary to protect people and the environment and ensure the continued safe operation of the Columbia Generating Station," said NRC Region IV Administrator Kriss Kennedy.

Brandt joined the NRC in 2013 as a project engineer in the Region IV office in Arlington, Texas, and graduated from the NRC Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program in 2015. She holds a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant has at least two resident inspectors. Brandt joins Senior Resident Inspector Greg Kolcum at Columbia Generating Station. They conduct inspections, monitor significant work projects and interact with plant employees and the public
