Jocelyn Perry appointed President and CEO of Newfoundland Power Inc.

The Board of Directors of Newfoundland Power Inc. announced that Jocelyn Perry has been appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1, 2017.

"Jocelyn has been instrumental in building an environment of high performance and operational expertise that benefits customers by delivering the highest level of quality, dependable service," said Anne Whelan, Chair, Board of Directors, Newfoundland Power. "She continuously demonstrates her commitment to Newfoundland Power customers, employees and the community while ensuring the highest standards of excellence in safety and reliability."

Perry previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer of Newfoundland Power. She began her career with Newfoundland Power in 2005, and has extensive knowledge of the utility and energy sector as an executive over the past decade. Prior to joining Newfoundland Power, she has held several senior management positions, including at Fortis Inc.

"The electricity sector plays a pivotal role in our Province's future," added Whelan. "Maintaining electricity system reliability and enhancing customer service is core to what Newfoundland Power does every day. Jocelyn's proven track record of delivering results combined with the value she places on employees' strengths and talents will make this transition seamless and ensure the Company's future success."

Perry will replace Gary Smith, who has been appointed Executive Vice President, Eastern Canadian and Caribbean Operations with Fortis Inc., effective June 1, 2017. Whelan expressed her gratitude for Smith's strong leadership and unwavering focus on safety, reliability and customer service.

Other members of the Newfoundland Power Executive Team include: Peter Alteen, Vice President, Regulation and Planning; Paige London, Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer; and, Gary Murray, Vice President, Engineering and Operations.
