Three CETY Clean Cycle Systems Commissioned as Part of Aries Clean Energy's Waste-to-Energy Facility

May 18, 2017

Clean Energy Technologies, Inc. (OTC: CETY), announced that three  of their Clean Cycle heat recovery solution (HRS) systems have been successfully commissioned in Lebanon, TN, as an integral part of a waste-to-energy downdraft gasification plant constructed by Nashville-based Aries Clean Energy. The new plant is the largest system of its kind in the world.

CETY's Clean Cycle is based upon a highly efficient, patented high-speed turbine that allows the Clean Cycle to generate electricity in a closed-loop Organic Rankine Cycle HRS utilizing relatively low temperatures.  An Organic Rankine Cycle HRS captures waste heat, which can be from a variety of sources, such as exhaust streams, water, or steam processes, and converts it into reliable electricity without additional fuel or emissions.   The additional energy produced by the Clean Cycle can be used on site or sold back to the grid.

The waste-to-energy downdraft gasification plant built by Aries Clean Energy just outside Nashville integrates three of CETY Clean Cycle HRS systems designed to produce 420 kWs of electricity from heat captured through the gasification of approximately 64 tons of waste daily.

Aries Clean Energy provided design, installation, and construction services for the project, deploying their patented  downdraft gasification system.  The  gasifier cleanly converts waste into a combustible synthetic fuel gas without any burning or incineration steps.  The high-temperature process that takes place in Aries' commercially proven gasifiers is thermo-chemical in nature, using very low levels of oxygen in a sealed, computer-controlled environment.

"We're reducing landfill use, creating clean energy and keeping thousands of tons of carbon out of the air each year ... all with a positive cash flow," said Lebanon Mayor Bernie Ash. "This is a win."

The new plant, which will utilize scrap tires, commercial wood waste, and biosolids from the adjacent wastewater treatment plant for feedstock, will at its 64-ton per day capacity produce electricity equivalent to powering approximately 350 homes, and allow the city to utilize that power to offset almost half of the total load at the  waste treatment facility.  The plant is projected to result in 2,500 fewer tons of carbon emissions annually.  In addition, it will produce valuable high-carbon content biochar, which can be sold for agricultural or industrial uses.

Commenting on the projected benefits of the plant, CETY CEO Kam Mahdi said, "We expect this facility to be a model for next-generation waste-to-energy partnerships.  We at CETY are proud to be a key part of the efficiencies of this integrated system.  Worldwide there is a need for effective waste solutions, particularly those that can produce valuable byproducts, such as clean energy.   In waste solutions and many other municipal, industrial, commercial settings, there are enormous sources of exhaust heat where CETY's Clean Cycle can be used to generate reliable, clean power.  We believe the proven, proprietary technology integrated into the CETY Clean Cycle HRS, with over 100 units in operation worldwide and over one million fleet operating hours and the low maintenance profile of the Clean Cycle , favorably distinguishes the Clean Cycle from competing technologies.  Using the Clean Cycle , municipalities, industries, and businesses are able to recover a significant portion of this previously unutilized energy in the form of electricity.  CETY's Clean Cycle technology can increase efficiency, reduce costs, and increase revenue, while lowering the carbon footprint, of existing production facilities and processes."

About Clean Energy Technologies, Inc.

Clean Energy Technologies, Inc. designs, builds, and markets clean energy products focused on energy efficiency and environmentally sustainable technologies.  The Company's principal product is the Clean CycleTM generator, offered by CETY's Clean Energy HRS, or Heat Recovery Solutions, subsidiary, www.heatrecoverysolutions.com.  The Clean Cycle captures waste heat from a variety of sources and turns it into electricity that can used or sold back to the grid.  CETY's proven, reliable technology allows municipal, commercial, and industrial users with heat sources, such as from industrial processes or energy production, to boost their overall energy efficiency with no additional fuel, no pollutants, and little ongoing maintenance.  CETY's engineering and manufacturing resources support the Heat Recovery Solutions business, as well as CETY's other technologies.  Headquartered in Costa Mesa, California, CETY's common stock is currently traded on the Pink OTC Market under the symbol CETY.  For more information, visit www.cetyinc.com or www.heatrecoverysolutions.com.
