To provide engineering services for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of MidAmerican's distribution system. Responsibilities include applying prescribed methods and standard practices in performing specific tasks within projects and assisting other engineering staff on more complex projects. Project assignments may include planning, designing, materials procurement, project management and project accounting (budgeting, estimating, forecasting). Position also assists with engineering studies and investigations and in preparation of oral and written reports. This is the entry level engineer position in distribution engineering.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
- Provide engineering services for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of MidAmerican's distribution system. Responsibilities may include system planning, design specifications, maps and drawings, materials procurement, contract preparation, project management and project accounting (budgeting, estimating, forecasting).
- Provide technical assistance with engineering studies and investigations and preparation of oral and written reports.
- Provide engineering assistance to other departments and perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
