Role Summary / Purpose:
Seeking a Program Manager in the New York / New Jersey area to successfully manage a enterprise software and hardware implementation project. This is a critical, highly visible, early stage project role. The Program Manager will have overall project delivery for our client where there is cross-functional complexity across a geographically dispersed environment. Success factors for this leader include, building and maintaining consultative business relationships with executives, inspiring the team to deliver exemplary service; negotiating and managing contract terms; driving program participation, P&L ownership and overall delivery of projects on time.
The Program Manager will act as a liaison between various delivery teams and have responsibility for coordinating resources, managing the overall, complete implementation lifecycle of the enterprise class demand response management software program. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in delivering enterprise projects on time and within budget, establishing executive relationships, thinking on their feet, making decisions quickly, taking ownership of issues, and being well versed in a variety of technical disciplines. Having the ability to handle multiple demands concurrently, excellent time management, solid financial skills are critical for the success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Planning and managing program-wide deployment activities
- Identifying and monitoring interdependencies between various project implementation activities
- Day to day engagement with the implementation team across various disciplines
- Project status reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Issue and risk management through well-defined project control processes
- Complete project P&L ownership
- Project schedule management
- Lead team meetings, document meetings, coordinate meetings
- Lead cross-functional teams to design and implement business strategies
- Work with project stakeholders to identify and resolve project issues and identify incremental enhancement opportunities
- Drive Comverge and partner marketing channel success.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in business or technology field required, Masters preferred but not required
- Minimum 7-10 years' experience leading and/or participating on projects across all aspects of the implementation lifecycle
- PMP preferred but not required
- Utility domain expertise including SmartGrid products and services (AMI, MDMS, DR, etc.) preferred but not required
- Experience directing large-scale project deployments preferred but not required
- Primary location will be within Central / Southern tier New York State but travel may be required up to 30%
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
