Description
AECOM has a great opportunity for a Business Manager supporting our program in Northern Virginia. The selected candidate is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling business administration functions such as accounting, data processing, office and general services, and finance across the program. Additionally, this position will partner with the Project Management Office to drive successful financial performance of the contract. The Business Manager will study business methods in order to improve work flow, simplify reporting procedures, or implement cost reductions; analyze business practices such as record keeping systems, personnel and budgetary requirements, and performance standards to create new systems or revise established procedures; prepare and analyze annual budgets and financial forecasts; prepare administrative directions outlining policy and procedures; participate in the preparation of proposals; select, hire, train, and assign business administration staff for new projects; be able take part in contract negotiations as needed; establish, direct, and maintain business administration (as detailed above) activities and procedures in accordance with company policies; provide project and company management with project financial and manpower information and forecasting; develop and maintain close liaison with such departments as the Controller, Human Resources, Materials Management, Equipment, Real Estate, etc.; hire personnel or negotiate agreements for management services such as security, maintenance, and grounds keeping; work with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and others regarding the commercial terms of the contract, as well as maintains close contact with their counterparts in the client organization; under limited supervision, perform work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard techniques and procedures; demonstrate application of administrative and management principles, theories and concepts and have a working knowledge of other related disciplines; provide solutions to a wide range of problems and display the ability to coordinate the financial and administrative functions within the organization; ensure completed work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives; and perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w/poly security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or demonstrated equivalent.
  • 6 or more years of related experience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and integrated software applications
  • Must have proven organizational skills and the ability to perform detail-oriented work.
  • Position may require travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active, fully adjudicated TS/SCI w/poly is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Business Manager supporting government sector business is preferred.
