Description
AECOM has a great opportunity for a Buyer 2 to support our team in Northern Virginia. The selected candidate coordinates the day-to-day purchase, competitive bidding, and receipt of services and materials to meet customer needs by performing the following duties; work with the Program operations team to coordinate purchases of material and services in order to meet program schedules; enter purchase requisitions into the AECOM ERP system; utilize the appropriate purchasing method for given circumstances of purchase (item, $ amount, frequency of purchase, etc.); coordinate PO issuance with the Procurement team; work with vendors to ensure prompt delivery of products and services to satisfy customer demands; as the primary receiver on the program, develop processes to obtain notification of material delivers to site and then transact in the system; enter transactions timely and accurately to ensure prompt payment to vendors; support Operations team in competitive bidding process on new Task Order Work; develop metrics and run reports on spend and on-time delivery; address complaints and resolve problems and perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors Degree required. Previous work experience may be used to substitute degree requirement.
- 2 or more years of related experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w/poly security clearance.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and various computer software programs. Must be able to type at least 25wpm.
- Must have the ability to process information and merchandise through computer system; communicate with associates and customers; maintain records; and operate a computer terminal.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, system training, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Candidate must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to compute percentages.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active, fully adjudicated TS/SCI w/poly is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Buyer supporting government sector business is preferred.
