Description
B-Pressure Welders join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components, make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and weld parts, tools, machines and equipment.
Must be Local to Edmonton. No Camp/LOA/Travel.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret welding process specifications
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten are (GTAW), gas metal arc (GMAW), flux-core arc (FAW), plasma arc (PAW), shielded metal arc (SAME, oxy acetylene (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
- Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
- Operate previously set up welding machines such as spot, butt and seam resistance or gar and arc welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts
- Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line
- Assist with the maintenance and repair or welding, brazing and soldering equipment
- May adjust welding heads and tooling according to work specifications
- Manual dexterity
- Other duties as required
Requirements
Experience:
- Must be a certified journeyman or hold a recognized trade certificate in the working province
- B pressure certificate
- Pass welding test
- Requires excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills in English
- 1-3 years' experience in years of field civil and mechanical experience in the pipeline construction industry.
- Experience on large industrial projects
- Experience on pipeline projects an asset
