Description
The purpose of the Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) Infrared gas leak technician is to minimize the gaseous emissions of methane and other light hydrocarbons from processing facilities, piping and gas wells. 

OGI surveys are conducted by OGI Technicians and used to locate and determine relative severity of light hydrocarbon gas leaks for the purpose of improving facility safety and equipment reliability. These surveys provide a basis for predictive analysis permitting maintenance to be scheduled to minimize fugitive emissions.

This position requires the ability to work safely with others in a team environment and the ability to communicate clearly with customers, contractors, and fellow employees.

Essential Functions:

OGI Technicians shall perform the OGI surveys which shall include but is not limited to the following:

  • Locate and determine relative severity of light hydrocarbon gas leaks for the purpose of improving facility safety and equipment reliability. These surveys provide a basis for predictive analysis permitting maintenance to be scheduled to minimize fugitive emissions.
  • Scanning a valves, compressors or piping under static full load conditions or they may consist of more complex dynamic evolutions ie. module scanning during system start up following overhaul
  • Determine the adequacy or effectiveness of corrective actions. (e.g., leak check after maintenance and repairs)
