The Customer Projects team is passionate about leading the growth and maintenance of Calgary's electrical system through providing exceptional Project Management of external customer driven projects, specific to Underground Residential Distribution (URD) and Developer Choice (DC) programs.

Grow your project management and technical skills while working with internal staff and external consultants to ensure that projects are appropriately integrated into EPC's Distribution systems.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop understanding of company & industry best practices & standards to ensure projects are designed and planned in a manner that mitigates safety & construction risks, and meets construction standards, stakeholder requirements & business financial objectives.
  • Manage Developer Choice projects from the initiate phase, through design, construction and project closeout.
  • Engage, as necessary, required resources to complete projects. These resources may or may not reside internally to ENMAX. Examples of these resources include design consultants, as well as engineering, field services and scheduling.
  • Review and approve project designs and change orders for construction.
  • Ensure Engineering Consultants adhere to ENMAX Power Corporation's Distribution Tariff Terms and Conditions, Technical Requirements, Standards, work practices, and regulatory codes such as ECUC, CSA, and CEC.
  • Support the continual improvement of standards and guidelines, including clarifying & revising processes, documentation and following up on implementing changes.
  • Track resolution of SCO deficiencies.
  • Support the development of large program improvements (work within limits of approach, performance metrics, URD project review model, multi-family and non-standard investment, etc.)
  • Support project cost analysis and investigations (e.g. financial queries and analysis).

Education Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • P.Eng status with The Association of Professionals in Engineering and Geoscience in Alberta (APEGA)

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years' of engineering experience with an electrical utility.  An equivalent combination of education and industry related experience may be considered
  • Direct applicable experience in distribution design, standards, construction and project management is considered an asset
  • Project Management certification would be an asset

  • Takes personal responsibility to ensure satisfaction of both internal and external customers
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize key tasks and effectively manage resources to achieve required results
