Directly support a team that is responsible for integrating new services (applications and infrastructure) into the organizations portfolio of internal and existing cloud services.This role collaborates with technology brokers and external providers to understand new cloud services and integration technologies and their implications for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates and actively participates in the delivery and support of software solutions with an emphasis on data integration and analytic (BI) solutions within the organization
  • Serves as an in-house expert in data integration and various middleware technologies
  • Mentors or actively leads internal and external teams that leverage integration solutions on effective design, process and technical implementation
  • Manages the integration of cloud and infrastructure services into existing IT systems
  • Provide thought leadership in the discipline of data integration and the use of middleware tools at ENMAX
  • Work with Enterprise Architects, Information architects and technology brokers to evaluate new technologies and service offerings
  • Ensure new services align to roadmaps and to understand the impact on the organizations architecture
  • Liases with external providers to resolve any issues in the functionality and interoperability of new applications, cloud infrastructure, and other services with existing IT systems
  • Provide primary or secondary support for operational integration and BI solutions within the IS Corporate business unit
  • Coordinates testing efforts identify and resolve system integration issues

Education:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or Geography with an emphasis on technical tools or a Technical Diploma with an IT designation

Qualifications:

  • More than five years of experience as a software developer, application integration specialist or in fields related to enterprise application integration (EAI)
  • Knowledge in cloud infrastructure and computing such as AWS and Microsoft Azure is required
  • Knowledge in SQL and a scripting language such as Javascript, Ruby or Python is required
  • Proven experience and understanding of XML/XSLT, JSON and Java is a requirement
  • Understanding of the Electrical Utility industry, particularly the Alberta regulatory landscape as it applies to market transactions and regulatory finance
  • Strong understanding of: data and process integration, service-oriented architectures, integration architectures, integration patterns, middleware tools (ETL, MOM), databases, data warehouses, and infrastructure technologies, particularly Oracle, SQL Server and emerging cloud / in-memory databases
  • Deep understanding of Web Services, Web APIs, REST, SOAP, WSDL
  • Proficiency with Snaplogic would be a major asset
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft .NET
