The Manager, Distribution Maintenance Support will manage distribution maintenance and operational support related activities by delivering energy services in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner while meeting customer needs. Oversee preventative, planned and emergent maintenance in support of operations, construction and maintenance teams as well as technical operations supporting distribution system automation and control. Ensure resources and materials are staged and deployed to support and execute critical Fire Mitigation initiatives. Provide oversight of maintenance related support functions including the transformer and tool shops, outdoor lighting and locates department. Lead and develop individuals and teams by using people management processes and tools that involve staffing, training, supervising, coaching, and performance management to achieve optimal performance.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent experience) and six (6) years' experience which includes previous leadership responsibilities.
- Extensive knowledge of electric distribution system operations, design, maintenance and/or construction.
- Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.
Major Accountabilities
1) Execute the distribution organization's maintenance and operations support plan.
2) Operate, maintain, and supply key components and processes supporting the electric distribution system within established performance parameters, while identifying continuous improvement opportunities, and implementing accordingly.
3) Manage the maintenance, support, and related activities of distribution assets, assuring projects are completed in a cost effective, timely, and safe manner, consistent with customer needs.
4) Selects and develops a high performing team through effective coaching, performance feedback, recognition, training and developmental opportunities.
5) Design, implement and monitor the performance of the electric distribution system components to improve the overall reliability.
6) Enhance the quality of customer communications by assisting with the design and effective implementation of the use of GIS, Maximo, MLIS, and other operational applications/technologies.
7) Manage overall department budgets and ensure funded targets are achieved through ongoing monitoring of performance and costs while making necessary changes to improve effectiveness.
8) Develop strategies and recommend policy changes which support and integrate department objectives and corporate direction.
9) Promote effective safety programs which keep employees informed of safety, health issues and work practices applicable to their function.
