Position Summary:

This position oversees and is accountable for the Program Planning and Earned Value Management function with a matrix responsibility to construction management function, supervising a team of professional analysts and contractors. Leads the deployment and modification of Primavera scheduling and planning systems as appropriate to support project-specific execution requirements. Communicates schedule and planning information at the project and program level to key Gas Transmission stakeholders. Creates program and project baseline information and measures progress against baseline using both cost and schedule performance indexes. Implements and monitors system supporting performance measurements systems. Contributes toward Gas Safety Excellence goals by improving safety, reliability and affordability for one or more asset families and one or more life cycles.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $122,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $194,000.

&/OR

California Minimum: $116,000.

California Maximum: $184,000.

Job Responsibilities:

Supervises Program Planning and P6 Control team as well as the Earned Value Management (EVM) team and effectively communicates strategy, process and procedure

Mentors and coaches team members, frequently providing feedback

Participates in the development of a strategy for a high performance planning and controls team that can accurately maintain schedules for the gas program.

Participates in the development of a strategy for a high performance EVM team that can accurately report on cost performance for program controls.

Implements planning and control plans and procedures as well as EVM plans and procedures across function and program.

Develops, maintains, and publishes accurate P6 schedule and EVM reports for program, work streams, and construction management.

Resolves issues and ensures consistency in planning/scheduling and EVM deliverables

Conducts formal quarterly feedback sessions with key stakeholders

Implements and effectively uses company and industry standard scheduling and planning systems as well as program/project controls or EVM systems.

Defines the strategy, deployment and modification of program/project controls systems as appropriate to support project specific execution requirements.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • BA/BS, preferably in engineering, building construction, construction technology, business, economics, accounting, construction management, computer science, mathematics, or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Five (5) years of experience in P6 program/project planning, control and/or scheduling
  • Proficient in the system tools of Primavera P6, SAP, Unifier, and ProjectWise.

Desired:

  • Earned Value Professional (EVP) issued by Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineers (AACE)
  • Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) issued by Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineers (AACE)
  • Background in Gas Transmission Projects and Portfolio Planning of In-Line-Inspection, Replacement, Strength Testing and Station work.
