Position Summary
This is a temporary position involving various duties that permit exposure to the student's field of study and or/provide experience that is useful addition to the student's education and meaningful preparation for future professional employment. Under immediate direction and under work guidance of Mentor, assist and supports departments in development of business projects.
Service Desk is the first point of contact for end users of CPS Energy's IT services and incidents. Provides tier 1 and tier 2 level contact for incident resolution with software, application, how to's, and processes. Respond to requests for technical assistance by phone, email, chat, and/or using the ticketing system. Track issues to resolutions updating the internal knowledgebase and/or communicating learning's with relevant business units. Responsible for assisting all customers with their questions about all CPS supported software and computing platforms to the best of his/her ability, in a professional and courteous manner.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- High quality professional day-to-day execution of special projects
- Assist in brainstorming and idea planning
- Network-Meet a variety of people in your chosen profession through your internship, allowing you to form relationships you can build on in the future
- Learn and master internal operations, including but not limited to accounting, event planning, finance, human resources, payroll, marketing, relationship building, customer service, sales, daily operations, etc
- Identify areas for process improvement
- Make recommendations to leadership for streamlining systems and processes
- Research and implement solutions for enhanced efficiency
- Ability to manage and organize multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Provides "single point" of contact for all IT related needs
- Processes service requests via e-mail, on-line forms, telephone, employee self-service, and walk-ins
- Documents, triage, and records all incidents or service requests
- Customer service skills and technical skills are equally important
- Must have a familiarity with operating protocols for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
- Must have the ability to solve common applications issues and install software
- Ability to learn new technologies and assist with training end-users
- Provide service excellence to customers while following the guidelines of the organization
