The Aviation Safety Officer position is a professional position requiring formal aviation training/education and FAA licensing. Responsibilities include:
- Performing essential aviation related safety functions (internal and external) as part of the overall Aircraft Operations department.
- Provide a continuity in the aviation operations, monitor safe operations, and promote aviation safety.
- Lead all aviation safety incident reviews both internally and with external contractors.
- Administer the department's SMS program and function as the Chairman of the Safety Committee.
- Monitors safety issues, provides safety education, investigate incidents and accidents, act as an expert on aviation safety matters.
- Makes recommendations to improve safety in the workplace, demonstrate in-depth knowledge and relevant safety practices in helicopter aviation management.
The essentials

Possess ten (10) or more years of experience in aviation or aerospace related industries.

Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's).

Commercial Rotorcraft Certificate.
The preferred

Bachelor's Degree in aviation, business, engineering or applicable business or technical field or an equivalent combination of military, education, skills, and experience.

Certificate in Aviation Safety from an accredited program.

Experience in FAR Part 133 Long-Line operations.
