DESCRIPTION:
Under the general direction of the Supervisor, IT Corporate Solutions, the Sr Systems Specialist - SAP Developer will primarily be responsible for participating in the effective delivery of Information Technology business systems that are in alignment with the business objectives of FortisAlberta. This is a hands-on working role in which the incumbent completes all work required to improve and support the applications. This position is responsible for day-to-day break-fix and enhancement activities reported or requested by our business users, in addition to assigned project activities. This role will help in the identification, communication and resolution of systems issues to maximize the benefit of IT services to FortisAlberta.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
Lead the end-to-end development of ABAP programs, enhancements, interfaces, reports, workflows, and forms in SAP ECC, SAP Fiori/UI5, and SAP BTP environments.
Design and develop integration flows using SAP Integration Suite. These iFlows will integrate with various SAP modules including (but not limited to) SuccessFactors, Ariba, and Concur.
Complete application development in coordination with a Project Manager and Solution Architect to develop technical solutions within FortisAlberta's ERP. This involves analyzing alternative solutions, recommending solutions, creating technical specifications, providing the project team and leadership with accurate estimates of effort, and executing based on an agreed upon solution design.
Analyze day-to-day functions and processes of software, database resources, and integration flows to ensure they are performing within predetermined guidelines, limits, and specifications; provide status reports and analysis documents as needed.
Ensure appropriate response and correction of production problems in a timely manner to meet defined service levels and guarantee compliance with industry deadlines, providing on-call technical support if required.
Follow up on production problems to investigate and address root cause.
Monitor and update Ivanti ticket system for Service Requests, Incidents, and Change Requests.
Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of SAP development efforts.
Special projects and other duties, including assisting other areas of IT and the business, as assigned.

Demonstrated ability in using MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Demonstrated ability to write ABAP in SAP ECC and SAP Fiori/UI5.
Demonstrated proficiency in Groovy scripts, XSLT, XML, and JSON.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus a minimum of seven (7) years of experience with systems analysis, design, development and programming with SAP ABAP in SAP environments including SAP ECC and SAP Fiori/UI5.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The following experience is considered an asset:
One (1) year of systems analysis, design, and development in SAP S4/HANA.
One (1) year of systems analysis, design, and development with SAP BTP.
One (1) year of systems analysis, design, and development with SAP Ariba CIG.
One (1) year of systems analysis, design, and development with SAP IS-U.
One (1) year of systems analysis, design, and development with SAP Workflow.
