Functional Expertise:

Manages the customer on-boarding experience to ensure all customers are extended service in as timely and cost-effective manner as possible.

Prepares, monitors and executes on departmental O&M and Capital New Business budgets

Provides explanations for both Capital and O&M New Business budget variances and develops appropriate strategic, corrective actions.

Analyzes and interprets key new business metrics

Resolves state regulatory agency construction inquiries
-
Reviews high level cost project estimates on behalf of operating departments and advises Engineering in accordance with authorization approval policies.
Business Acumen:

Balances external stakeholder (customer, regulatory agency, permitting jurisdiction, etc.) needs with company goals and objectives to reach a favorable resolution to stakeholder issues and/or concerns.

Consults with engineering, construction, and operations resources on constructability timelines of new and revision projects generated by the customer.

Works with the Manager of Construction to formulate the most efficient routing of new gas mains and services to serve new residential, commercial, and industrial developments

Proposes alternative gas main and service designs for system reliability and cost effectiveness

Manages staff selection and performance development through coaching and training opportunities.

Presents departmental performance and reports on the progression of major projects to key internal stakeholders at the director and/or executive level

Establishes and monitors work goals that are consistent with the department's and corporation's overall strategy

Drives results through performance management of staff including setting expectations, evaluating results and taking corrective action as needed

Achieves high performance in a matrix environment by effectively managing relationships with other business organizations

Develop and implement new processes and procedures resulting from "lessons learned" meetings and "root cause" studies
Education, Certifications/Licenses:

Related Work Experience:
Required:
- BA/BS degree and 3 years leadership experience OR equivalent academic education and experience
Preferred:
- Past experience working with Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
Specific Skills & Knowledge:
Required:
- MS Excel and Word proficiency
Preferred:
- Experience with systems including such as Work Management, GIS, and Project Costing (Accounting) specifically Hyperion
